Florida ends all Covid Restrictions

I think the Governor is nuts.

So Governor De Santis is overruling any local officials that want to impose restrictions, mandate mask wearing, or other any other things local government wants to do to contain the virus. The state is open and back to normal

But the only reason he has the power to do this is because he has declared a state of emergency for the pandemic, which gives him extraordinary powers.

I am so sorry for the people of Florida, especially for the health workers.

NJ numbers are very worrying, lets focus on that first. Essex county is bad. I hear Maplewood is spiking because HS students are just letting loose and their parents apparently don’t care.

 Two students at Columbia tested positive. Girls tennis suspended.

More than 2 students now. I know for certain of a second sport (and rumor of a possible third sport) that suspended practices for a minimum of two weeks. A party (or two) was identified as the source of spread.

That said, the generalization that "parents don't care" seems incorrect within my own HS parent circles. Possible a small number of parents were not concerned about Covid, and the high schoolers felt invincible. 

Will this suspension of sports, and the frustration of peers, make students more aware and careful going forward? Don't know. The hormones make them unpredictable.
